President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address is scheduled for January 20th, however, according to CNBC he’s already begun promoting some of his new initiatives in an effort to help generate a level of fervor for his next to last year of presidency. On Monday January 12th, he’ll be holding a meeting with the Federal Trade Commission in order to lay the groundwork for a plan to help tackle identity theft and help improve both consumer and student privacy. Furthermore, the President will be holding a meeting with Congress at the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (part of the Department of Homeland Security that shares information within the public and private sectors) in order to discuss the ways in which the private sector and federal government can voluntarily share more cybersecurity information.
